My horses have a drink after they eat or graze but overall they're not
drinking a lot of water compared to the reading I've been doing about
all the gallons of water a horse needs per day. I fill a big
container half of water and they may drink half of that before I
change it for fresh. The weather isn't hot and they're not working so
I'm guessing that they're not drinking a lot because of that, or maybe
because it tastes different.

They seem to be pooping enough. I've started to spread the poop on
the ground about 30-40 ft away from the shelter -- I thought I'd
start to layer it as it accumulates and then start another pile
letting the first compost.

The unfenced future pasture is getting high and hubby wants to mow
it--should we let it grow or mow it down? Is the long grass too rich
or is it too rich after being mowed?
