Love the red ribbon. I might have a pair of English spurs around here somewhere, but I never use them. Since I want my horse to move off my calf muscle, jabbing her with a spur just seems like it would put my entire leg out of position. Tosca will occassionally back her ears at a strange horse and she gets growled at for that. It's not acceptable since she often goes out in groups where there are strange horses. Most of the mares we're around learn quickly that it's not an appropriate behavior.
