I know that summer made a difference in his life." Oh that's soooo cool!!!! For the listers who wonder who Misty is: Misty used to be active on the list and was teaching in a mostly (all?) Innuit village up in Alaska. One little boy in her class was getting passed around from relative to relative -- aunts, uncles, grandparents, etc. within the tribe. He was shy, didn't do well in school, and had no self-esteem. (No surprise). isty took him home for the summer (she also had a son his age) and this little guy -- Arnold -- got to go to the dentist for the first time (he was 11), got new clothes and shoes for the first time, rode ponies all summer for the first time, and in general, got to experience a stable, normal family. Anyway, it was such a good thing Misty did and we all got to see pictures of Arnold that summer. He was adorable and he got to be quite a good little rider too. And now, with a nod to Paul Harvey, I got to know the rest of the story. : ) -- Renee M. in Michigan, smiling, remembering the pictures of a little Eskimo boy with a big grin on a sleek Icelandic pony. . . .
