hey you guys, i think sulphur works repelling gnats! Trausti and nasi
both were doing some what i would call normal rubbing, no hair loss,
and I would see just swarms of gnats around their sheaths when in
between bug spray treatments. My elderly friend, a breeder of over
fifty years, told me a sulphur salt block, the yellow ones, would help
keep gnats and mosquitos away. Then I bought some "Happy jack Mange
Medicine" suggested by a friend, said it will halt eczema in dogs.
the main ingredient is a high persentage of sulphur. it smells to
high heaven and is expensive, around 18 bucks for 8 ounces. I put it
on the scalp at the mane where i saw some dandruff and on the ventril
line.I see a very marked and noticeable decrease in gnats! M-T-G by
shapely is also a product with sulphur. You can buy sulphur tablets
for cattle but dont know how much you would give as a dose to horses
for gnat repellent, i think the tablets for cattle are for disease of
some kind... i dont know if Happy jack is a regional mange treatment
but you could google it. just fyi
