i was feeling guilty about not doing anything with the horses today
until i went out on the porch and saw my thermometer said 109. It was
so hot i didnt even want to walk out and run the hose so the ones who
wanted could come cool off. Then in a half hour it was a100 degrees
and cloudy and then a terrible sudden storm came in and it rained and
cooled everything off. Man, these horses sure know how to work
things! They discovered Jaspar's special alfalfa hay bales in the
back of my husbands truck and when we ran them off they had a huge
dramatic skirmish and we waved our arms and ran them off, turned
around and there is nasi and curls innocently eating away. Ran them
off and there is fox and trausti innocently eating away. Put them up
and came back and ... well, you know the rest, they ate half a bale
among them all. but interesting when it was 109 they just meandered
eating grass, all sweaty, then when it cooled off and clouded up they
started getting into things, playing tag, getting into the alfalfa
etc. little scamp turtleheads.
