what is the purpose of the noseband? To everyone: what's your input on this question?
Uh - do I have to answer that? I think I may have a 35 year old one hanging in the tackroom or maybe it finally got stiff and was thrown away. In my case, it was a shortcut for appropriate training. My thoroughbred resisted the bit by opening his mouth and the dropped noseband was used to help him learn to keep it shut and submit. I have since decided that more training is a better solution than more gear. Nancy
