That was our Twist, the Standardbred who lives here at home with his little 
buddy the Icelandic Yrsa.  Like many Standardbreds, Twist is so bomb proof 
he's practically comatose.  His resting heart rate has been  as low as 24. 
A comparison would be Hunter, whose lowest rate has been in the low 30's.

It hardly seemd fair that the sweet Twist would be the one a cougar took a 
swipe at, but he wouldn't have been particularly afraid.  And I have gone 
back to leaving them out at night.
