take a large bucket of pebbles. get a lawn chair and a cold drink, relax. when he starts pawing lightly toss a pebble and let it tap his butt. he will jump to see what tapped him. seeing nothing there. will relax. then when he paws, do it again. after a while he will get worried, man, every time I paw some invisible thing taps me! And he will quit pawing. will also work getting a leery horse into a trailer. Janice -- even good horses have bad days sometimes.
