how can I help him. I am gonna take him to weekly team penning and just expose him to the chaos... what else??
I think that's the most effective thing. My horses who were hauled all the time, three days a week in the winter, were always good in strange places. Hunter, who gets hauled only to competitions is better after four years, but it was pretty ugly in the beginning. Some of us are experimenting with a supplement called Tract Gard. There's something in it that really calms the horses, possibly the magnesium. The goofy Hunter had become so calm he was almost no fun. I took him off as an experiment and last night he galloped to the fence to be put away, spooked at the ATV and again at a parked tractor. Maybe there's some nice balance I can figure out. Nancy
