Yes, i know that, i just want to be sure i can turn flapping off and not miss any alerts (we have checks on a rather small intervall, but if they go to error state they still have to be checked by our standby ;-) ). At the moment i get a lot of flapping start / stop when a service has gone from OK to CRITICAL and back to OK, also when it was by human intervention to get the service OK again. You may try investigating and/or tweaking the check_interval, retry_interval, and similar settings to lower the flap threshold.
