I am in the process of building an icinga2 server to replace our nagios v1.2 system. My main question would be whether or not anyone has been able to get icinga2 to authenticate with CAS (https://wiki.jasig.org/display/CASUM/Home)
icinga2 itself as a core engine doesn't make much sense to me connecting with some sort of SSO as that document describes. If you're using "CAS" (which I've never seen or heard before) and some authorization provider such as LDAP, you can handle basic auth in your webserver, and just pass through the authenticated user to an existing web frontend, such as Icinga Web 2, Icinga Web 1.x or Icinga Classic UI 1.x. Most likely the same way you're doing it with Nagios CGIs now. 1.2 seems ancient though, never seen that in prod.
