After generating the necessary files via datastatus and compactlog mechanism in icinga2 , I finaly launched the classic UI. However, the webpage consistently threw the error that it could not load the object definitions . After almost a day of frustration tweaking all config variables, I figured out that the UI was actually failing because it was not able to parse the definitions in "objects.cache". If i have an empty file for objects.cache , the Ui loads fine(altough there is no data to display). 1. Is there a cli tool/script using which the objects.cache file can be verified ? You may execute the cgis on the shell. That's described in the documentation 2. In case the Ui is unable to parse the objects.cache , can it throw a relevant error instead of saying it is unable to find/ read the file There's a cgi log file to be enabled. strace is also something which could work on manually executing the file. And if your system is running SELinux, it's not an application problem. My setup Latest version of icinga2 Latest version of standalone icinga classic ui Which means? _______________________________________________ icinga-users mailing list [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> https://lists.icinga.org/mailman/listinfo/icinga-users -- Michael Friedrich, DI (FH) Application Developer NETWAYS GmbH | Deutschherrnstr. 15-19 | D-90429 Nuernberg Tel: +49 911 92885-0 | Fax: +49 911 92885-77 GF: Julian Hein, Bernd Erk | AG Nuernberg HRB18461 http://www.netways.de | [email protected] ** OSDC 2015 - April - osdc.de ** ** Puppet Camp Berlin 2015 - April - netways.de/puppetcamp ** ** OSBConf 2015 - September - osbconf.org **
