Hi!

I have a problem with monitoring some devices. We have installed them at
end users and of course, we want to monitor them too. But not all of these
users are using devices as they should.
Therefore, we want to know, how long are some devices disconnected from
network. If elapsed downtime is greater than x days, we bring them back.

So, the problem... installed devices are behind a router and when the
router goes down, connected devices' state changes from DOWN to UNREACHABLE
in Icinga. After fixing provider's problem, devices' state changes again to
DOWN (because parent-child relationship). But when it happens, the downtime
counter gets reset and then it seems that connected devices were used.

It is possible to prevent counter reset when parent host goes DOWN (prevent
child host to get UNREACHABLE)? Unfortunately, I can't delete parent-child
configuration and caching is also not feasible.

Thanks for any advice!

Best regards,
Gergo
