Is there a way to easily edit hosts/hostgroups, etc. using the front-end? This is hidden to me, and I don't see a way to enable it.
the frontend is by default not meant to provide such things, as there are existing tools like nagiosql, nconf, lconf, etc available. for lconf, there's a module available for icinga-web integration too. http://docs.icinga.org/latest/en/addons.html
the reason is simple - why create something new when the user can chose him/herself.
maybe we should point that out more clearly in the docs...
