How about extending the check_snmp plugin to be able to check multiple scalar OIDs at once and let the user provide individual thresholds on each? Currently it lets you pass in one OID to check at a time - but for many devices users will find they want to get many related OIDs and at the same time, each OID would require a separate threshold ...
