Heh, I can appreciate the time, trust me. I had given it a go but was missing a few things. Only thing for EL6 would be the addition of INSTALL_OPTS_WEB="" and INSTALL_OPTS_CACHE="" to the make section. In EL6, you must set ownership in $files and not %install. Other than that, its running with icinga-1.5.1 on an EL6 devel box.
