michael luebben just answered my forwarded question.

"The new Reporting Version 1.6 works with JasperServer 4.2.1. It must
install a mysql-driver. I have added a mysql-driver ;-)"

So i would say you either help us test the upcoming 1.6 release

git clone git://git.icinga.org/icinga-reports.git
cd icinga-reports
git checkout mluebben/r1.6
git pull origin mluebben/r1.6
git log

./configure --with-jasper-server=...
make install

or .. hm well - no 'or' ;-)

kind regards,
michael
