Each service is as far as i know treated uniquely, and this goes for 
each alert aswell.
If the pattern of changes in service states are consistent, you can 
handle this in a matter of ways.
1: You could configure time periods when checks should not be run.
2: You could alter the warning and critical limits.
3: You could wrap 20 service checks into less, so that the number of 
messages will decrease.
