Hello --
I have Icinga 1.6.1 installed, and I want to start adding remote hosts
and services to monitor. I have done this with Nagios,
and in that solution there were hosts, hostextinfo, hostgroups, and
services .cfg files that were used to accomplish these tasks.
These files are not present in the Icinga installation.
Can I copy the files in question from the Nagios onto the Icinga
server, and modifying the icinga.cfg file to reflect the new files,
or is there another course of action to be taken here?
As with Nagios the names of the config files for the objects are not
restricted. Please take a look at
http://docs.icinga.org/1.7/en/configmain.html#configmain-cfg_file and
http://docs.icinga.org/1.7/en/configmain.html#configmain-cfg_dir, choose
one of the directives and alter the values to match your environment so
the answer is "yes".
