Apologies to those who thought I gave too much detail in my email. If I had
provided less detail, I fear I might have got responses about not providing
enough! :)
I will take a more in-depth look at LConf - it looks like it may be of some
use to me.
Michael: As regards where I might have read that hostgroups inherit form
each other - I didn't read it anywhere.
I was using host and service inheritance (which I was already familiar
with), and happened to stumble upon the ability to specify
hostgroup_members inside hostgroups.
I inferred (wrongly) from that, that parameters would get inherited.
My mistake - thank you for helping to pin-point it.
