I am currently working on a new project which consists of upgrading our
current Nagios environment. I doing so I would like to change Nagios
over to Icinga because Icinga appears to have better usability within
the web UI. I've noticed the forums are not all English,
monitoring-portal.org, and was wondering what is the best method of
communication? This mailing list?
Anyways, back to my original topic pertaining to Icinga. What is the
best or recommended method of migrating from Nagios to Icinga? I am
currently running an old version, 3.0.6 on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server.
We are a SUSE shop and this was a hand me down system. It has taken me a
little while to figure out how everything works and I still don't have
everything down pat but continue to learn. I have quite a bit of clean
up as many of the contacts are no longer with the company so was also
wondering if I can tie this into Active Directory.
Another question I had was should I stick with the 1.8 version or start
off with Icinga 2?
I am sure I'll be posting quite a bit here unless there is an English
forum I am unaware of.
Thanks in advance.
