That's great!
Thank you!
I will try this soon!

I adapted some SQL queries from the Icinga Dashboard (https://github.com/hbokh/icinga-dashboard), and wrote a perl script that sends a morning report similar to what you describe. It provides the currently-active alerts, but you could quickly modify the code to include the totals as well.

I also paired a slightly-modified version of the perl script with ProcMail, and can now get a list of alerts on-demand by sending an email to the Icinga server with a particular subject line (in this case, "send alerts").

Here's the perl script for the morning report code. Keep in mind, I'm not a programmer, so I'm sure there's a better way to do this. But, it serves my purpose.

Subject: [icinga-users] daily morning mail

Hello,

is there anyone who had something implemented like a very short morning mail including Infos like:

123 hosts ok
567 services ok
3 services akknowledged
1 service critical

service critical:
...xyblafasel reason

that would be a nice extra for the smartphone using admin in the morning after awake - if notifications are switched off at night by company

Greatings
Matthias
