I adapted some SQL queries
from the Icinga Dashboard (
https://github.com/hbokh/icinga-dashboard),
and wrote a perl script that sends a morning report similar to what you
describe. It provides the currently-active alerts, but you could
quickly modify the code to include the totals as well.
I also
paired a slightly-modified version of the perl script with ProcMail, and
can now get a list of alerts on-demand by sending an email to the
Icinga server with a particular subject line (in this case, "send
alerts").
Here's the perl script for the morning report code.
Keep in mind, I'm not a programmer, so I'm sure there's a better way to
do this. But, it serves my purpose.
