Thanks for the reply... I checked the apache user and found that it was NOT in the icinga group. It was in the icinga-cmd group. I added the apache user to the icinga group and rebooted the box. (probably didn't need to be that extreme, but I come from a windows background.. <grin>) After reboot I verified the apache user group. # id apache uid=48(apache) gid=48(apache) groups=48(apache),5002(icinga),5003(icinga-cmd),496(nagios),5004(nagiocmd) However I still get the same error.
