Spanning multiple monitors would probably be more a function of your X server than anything else. Icinga will drive whatever it's host-browser window has for geometry. Seriously, if outright mapping is what you want to do and have status overlays on it, I'd recommend NagVis. I've used that in the past to very good results. The only drawback to it is that it doesn't do dynamic-adaptation the way that the Icinga maps do, but the Icinga maps suffer terribly from cramped geometry if there are more than a large handful of nodes.
