College sailing is a blast. The problem is not many people outside of the
elite junior circles knows how to get involved or even that it exists. Rather
than just complain, I would like to do something about this.
_http://www.xsracing.org_ (http://www.xsracing.org) is willing to run stories
with pictures,
post the results of events and do promotional pieces on schools free of
charge.
One of the constant complaints I hear from smaller schools is that there
sailing teams are under funded. If more people knew about your program and
could put faces to names and the team I think the donations would be easier
for
people to give. Communication and promotion is the number one way to improve
the size and quality of the team and make those on the team feel more like a
family.
If this seems like a good idea, please circulate this information the teams
in your area or to the various college mailing list.
