Dear Team racing fans,

There is an exciting new division for this year's ISAF Team Racing World Championship: sailors under 21 years old. We are looking for umpires to assist in this event and wanted to see if you had time to assist. Don Becker is the CHUMP and is always a pleasure to work with.

If you are a team racer and interested in umpiring, this is a great opportunity to learn from some of the best umpires around. plus, i guarantee that umpiring will give you a better understanding of the rules, what umpires are looking for in a race and make you a better team racer in the long run.

Here are more details for your information.

This weekend was a great event including two round robins and a double final four. 8 teams competed in 10 knots of breeze in front of the Stanford boathouse in 12 fjs and 6 420s. The regatta came down to the last race in the finals between Adios Pantelones and Ocean Alliance. OA and Adios met four times and each team won two of the matches. The third place team – Mohegan Sun – had the chance to tie for second with a win in their final match, but they were ousted by liquid satisfaction. The race management and social activities were top notch. In the end Ocean Alliance defended their title from last year (albeit with a modified squad).

Final Standings

1. Ocean Alliance (Tyler Pruett, Melanie Roberts, Garrett Woodworth, Steph Adams, Caleb Silsby, Paige Hannon)

2. Adios Pantelones (Dave Siegal, Anna Martin, Zander Kirkland, Katie Greenly, Tommy Leach, Whitney Loufek)

3. Mohegan Sun (Phil Stemler, Blair Belling, Jesse Kirkland, Marla Menninger, Peter Stemler, Brooke Thomson)

4. Liquid Satisfaction (Conrads/Condon/Hooks)

5. Stanford

6. Harrison Turner/Kevin Richards, etc.

7. Hatton/McLaughlin/Vitarelli

8. Bay Area Babes
