REGATTA HIGHLIGHTS:

Nine races were sailed today under sunny skies to decide the SAISA Co-ed Fall
Championship. Racing began at around 10am on the Cooper River. The breeze
started out of the North and was a steady 8+ knots. It remained steady through
6 races, but as it got warmer it started to fade and the ebb tide really
started to haul. By 1ish it was impossible to race. After a few hours of delay
ashore, the remaining two races of the series were started "around the corner"
near Crab Bank. By then the tide was slack and the sea breeze slowly filled.
For races 8A and 8B, goldcups were used while all the other races were two lap
windward leewards. There were no protests filed and there were no breakdowns.
Thanks to Doc Wood for being available nonetheless and also to the C of C
undergrads for running a smooth event. Congrats to C of C, Eckerd, and South
Florida for qualifying for ACCs.
