Central Spring Qualifier

Princeton University

April 4-5, 2009

Saturday:
Sailors were greeted at Raritan Yacht Club this morning with a ripping 25-30 knots, with gusts occasionally above 40 knots. The Race Committee went out to observe the conditions and found heavy breezes far from the dock and incredibly shifty wind close to the dock, with 3-4 foot swells in both areas. After delaying to 11am, the A Fleet set out to race, but due to a high number of capsizes the race was postponed and the fleet returned to shore. The Race Committee continued to search for a possible race site but were unable to find an area that was safe and large enough for a race course. With weather reports predicting that the wind would only pick up as they day went on, the day's racing was called off at 1:30pm.

No results to report.

Special thanks to PRO Vicky Jo Reiner and Ann Myer from Raritan Yacht Club for helping out with Race Committee, and the coaches who went out for support purposes.

All teams should report to Raritan Yacht Club at 8:45am on Sunday April 5.
