FINAL RESULTS
REGATTA HIGHLIGHTS:
Sailors arrived to a beautiful ESE breeze around 12-15 kts and warm
temps. The first round robin was sailed in that nice breeze. About
half way through the second round robin the wind started to get very
shifty and started to die during the third round robin. The wind
threatened several times to completely shut off, but held on long
enough for us to complete the triple round robin.
In one of the first times ever in sailing, since we did not have judges at this event, Bryan McDonald agreed to hear protests via a Skype video conversation from California. The idea worked very well, as 3 protests were heard, resulting in 2 DSQ's.
Special thanks again to Bryan hearing protests, and to all the Triton sailors for running a very smooth event. Congratulations to Charleston and USF for qualifying for Team Race Nationals. A scoring grid for the regatta has also been attached.
