ICSA Women's Semi Final
St. Francis Yacht Club & Stanford University
May 25, 2009

HIGHLIGHTS:
Racing was underway shortly after 10am. The racing area for the first three
B Division and A Division races took place between the Golden Gate Yacht
Club and Fort Mason. The day started out with a puffy 5-15 knots. The
course for Races 4-5B and 4A were set on the City Front just outside of St.
Francis Yacht Club. At that point, the breeze built to 20-24 knots with
puffs in the higher twenties. After several wipeouts in 4A, the fleet
sailed back to the dock after finishing while the course was relocated to
the morning's venue. Races 5A, 6-7B, and 6-7A were sailed in 15-20 knots of
breeze, starting the last race 8 minutes before the time limit for the day.
Two requests for redress were filed, one was granted. No protests.
Special thanks to PRO Mike Kalin and all Race Committee Volunteers. Thanks
to John Vandemoer, Erik Storck, and Brian Stanford for keeping the rotations
flowing smoothly. Thanks to Eddie Conrad for doing everything from righting
capsized boats to blogging for the event. Thank you head judge Don Becker
and his crew of Maggie Lumkes, Adele Wilhelm, and Betsy Altman, they did a
fantastic job.

Congratulations to the top 9 teams: Old Dominion, Dartmouth, Georgetown,
Boston University, Boston College, University of Rhode Island, Connecticut
College, Brown, and Eckerd, who have qualified for Women's Nationals.
