At the end of the fall season, the Fordham & Columbia University Sailing Teams, which are located very close to each other on City Island, NY, entered into a joint agreement to purchase 20 new 420s so we may Co-Host major MAISA & ICSA events.
Fordham advertised its 10-boat fleet for sale and six of the boats have been sold for $3,000 or more each. A yacht club purchased four for its Junior Sailing program and an alumnus bought two for his grandchildren. The four remaining boats were delivered in September 2001 and have been sailed at practices twice weekly during the College Sailing seasons and at two or three annual regattas since then. The boats are in good shape. The sails were made by Dan Winters and are color coded for team racing. They are a couple of years old and in very good condition. The boats also come with Seitech dollies, which are adequate. We have taken good care of the boats including during the winter and summer off-seasons, when they have been shrink-wrapped. The boats are priced at $3,500 each or all four for $12,000. Delivery is not included. The boats may be picked up at Morris Yacht & Beach Club on City Island, the Bronx, New York City at the end of the spring College Sailing season. One may see them in action at the Greater New York Dinghy Regatta hosted by Fordham on April 10-11 and pictures of them appear on our web site, www.fordham.edu/athletics/sailing. A 25% deposit will be required to place an order. Another 25% will be due on April 1, and the final 50% will be payable via cash or certified check upon pick-up of the boats.
