February 20-21, 2010
Saturday: USF hosting 8 Women's teams, racing A and B division
together in FJ’s. Three races sailed in a dying NE breeze in the a.m.,
followed by a long break, then three races in a WSW seabreeze in the
late afternoon. All races modified windward-leewards averaging 18
minutes in length. No protests, no breakdowns.
Sunday: Sunshine was abundant, but the wind was not, as the water was
glass until 2pm. The skies clouded over and a 7-10 knot westerly
filled in. Four more races were sailed, all modified
windward-leewards, 10 in total for the regatta.
Thank you to team baker Kirsten Hunt, to all on the USF team who
helped, both on and off the water, and to the competitors who traveled
to this event, ensuring it's success! Congratulations to the home team
USF Bulls who narrowly defeated the US Coast Guard Academy for a one
point victory.
