Beautiful Sunshine and temperatures into the 70's marked the 21st St. Mary's
Women's Intersectional. Unfortunately, we had to wait for wind.
11 races were completed in each division. Very unstable breezes moved from
the southwest to east over the weekend and died several times along the way.
Rotational switches happened on the water using a direct swap. The patience
of everyone was tested, but the RC did an excellent job trying to keep up
with the puffs, shifts and lulls. Although the sea-breeze direction filled
several times, it never actually settled in from that direction. Several
races were abandoned when racing deteriorated. 5 coach boats were deployed
and coaches were gracious in helping to move marks to keep the racing fair
and efficient.

Courses were mostly W 4's with an offset and leeward gates. A couple of W
3's were used to end the day each day. 4 races in each division were
completed on Sat and the balance on Sun. One protest was heard resulting in
a dsq. A request for redress was denied.

Wickaway mock turtleneck shirts by Sailfly.net were given as prizes to every
member of the winning 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams. Congratulations to the
Charleston Cougars who win their 3rd major intersectional of the spring.
