Marchiando/Friis Trophy at MIT and Tufts

This trophy honors Lynne Marchiando, former MIT varsity sailing star and Jan
Friis, founder of the Tufts University sailing program. 7 teams reported to
each site and the top 8 teams will sail tomorrow at Tufts. The remaining 6
will race at MIT.

Saturday Results from MIT:

Saturday's racing was held in FJ's in a very puffy westerly at 8-35 knots.
The first round robin was held on the famous MIT inverted digital N course
with storm jibs and the second round robin was held on the vanilla college N
with standard jibs. All races were umpired by a great umpiring team led by
Peter Johns, with Matt Knowles, Kyle Kovacs, Brooks Reed, Jeff Dusek, and
Nat Taylor. PRO Fran Charles was assisted by Steve Drapcho and David Alfonso
in the finish boat and Ellie Hass, Mark Van De Loo, Leigh Casadaban with
scoring.
