Saturday's racing began in a 5 knot Westerly breeze. A course was set in
the cove near Greenbury Point in the Severn River. The wind shifted
northwest during the morning and increased slightly in strength, but the
racing was very puffy and shifty. After three races, the wind died
completely and the fleet headed in for lunch. After about an hour break, a
Southerly filled in and the fleet headed back out for 5 more races, before
the wind died again. The wind stayed light during the afternoon, although
it was less shifty than the morning.

Sunday started out cloudy rainy and considerably cooler that the day before.
The wind was coming from the North at 5-10 knots, and a course was set off
Horn Point in the mouth of the Severn River near Bembe Beach. The north is
not a good wind direction in the Severn, so the wind tended to settle in
from either the Northwest or the Northeast, leading to some massive shifts.
The wind lightened through the course of the morning and the fleet headed in
for a short lunch break after six races. When we came back out, the breeze
had settled in further northeast and built in strength to 7-15 knots, giving
us the best breeze of the weekend. Arielle DeLisser from Hobart and William
Smith Colleges took off in the breeze and separated herself from the tight
fleet to win the 2010 Faye Bennet MAISA Women's Single-Handed Championship.

Thanks to LT Ben herring and his team of Midshipmen for running a quality
event and to Herb Larrabee, Scott Kirwin, and Dave Clinnin for serving as on
the water judges.

Congratulations to Airelle DeLisser '14 from HWS, Marissa Lihan '14 from
