Five teams competed at the SAISA Sloop Match Racing Championships hosted by the St. Petersburg YC in Sonars on Saturday, October 9, 2010, in very light winds.
Congratulations to College of Charleston for besting the University of South Florida in the Finals, 2-0. They will advance to the National Championship November 19-21, 2010 at King's Point. Petit-finals for 3rd and 4th between Eckerd and Clemson were not raced. Many thanks to PRO Patricia Seidenspinner and to Head Coach Todd Fedyszyn who worked to assemble a top-notch group of umpires and RC officials for this well-run event, and to the St. Petersburg YC and Sailing Center staff for loaning their fleet of Sonars and for ensuring that they were in excellent condition.
