A fantastic day on the Elizabeth River greeted some of the top teams in college
sailing this morning. Breezes oscillated from the E-NE throughout the day made
it tough for the race management and teams alike. In all, 40 of the 56 races
from the first two rounds were completed leaving the remainder of the 2nd round
and Final Four for tomorrow. At this stage in the event there are 4 teams with
3 losses at the top and it still remains anyone's regatta to win. Two protest
hearings were heard at the end of the day, one for a yellow flag that did not
change the results, while the other was a black flag hearing for rule 14 that
resulted in .5 a point being deducted from St. Mary's College.

Many thanks to the Monarch Sailors for running the tough races today, as well
as special thank yous to Town Point Yacht Club for some great food and Scott
Ripley for hosting spectators, supporters, coaches, and umpires on his
beautiful yacht, Orza.
