Job Description: The Assistant Sailing Coach is responsible for providing assistance to the Head Coach in all aspects of the development and administration of a successful College Sailing program. This is a part-time position. The program will be conducted in accordance with all University, College Sailing and applicable National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) rules, regulations, and policies.
Essential functions include coaching and developing sailing specific skills in a successful, safe and prudent manner, and assisting with the maintenance of the fleet of sailboats, powerboats, and facilities. Additional functions may include assisting with recruiting, helping with fundraising, and other related duties related to the department of intercollegiate athletics, intramural and recreation as assigned. Requirements: 1. B.S. or B.A. preferred from an accredited four-year collegiate institution. 2. Experience in coaching and knowledge of the fundamental tactics and strategies of intercollegiate sailing. 3. US Sailing Level 2, motor boat license, CPR/First Aid 4. To be knowledgeable and current on all Racing Rules of Sailing as well as the College Sailing Procedural Rules. 5. Some travel maybe required, drivers license is strongly preferred 6.
