Hello College Sailors, Coaches, and Fans:

The CJ Buckley Team Race is the summer's premier Junior Team Race event, as
well as the 2011 Club 420 Team Race National Championship. In 2009 24 teams
attended, and in 2010 32 teams attended, making it a very popular event for
junior sailors. The dates for 2011 are Aug 1-3, and it is in East
Greenwich, Rhode Island. For more info, visit www.cjbuckleyregatta.net

Below are 2 important pieces of information:

1) 2011 CJ Team Race College Night: On Monday, Aug 1, there is the CJ
Buckley "College Night." This will start at approximately 5:30 PM, and we'd
like to have lots of representatives from collegiate teams in attendance.
This is a great opportunity to meet the junior sailors out there and
represent your program. Please contact Justin Assad if interested.

2) Call for Volunteers: Are you free on Aug 1,2, or 3? If so, we could
really use your help at the 2011 CJ Buckley Team Race. You can volunteer
for 1, 2 or all 3 days, and it is really a fantastic event to support. You
can make it but need a place to stay? No problem, we can figure something
out. Not sure if you're qualified? Don't worry, whether it's umpiring or
RC duty, we'll find something that you can do! Seriously - this is a very
special event, and a great opportunity to give back to the sport. Please
contact Justin Assad if you're interested in helping out. Coaches, please
forward to your teams.

Overview: In December of 2002, 17 year old CJ Buckley lost a valiant battle
with brain cancer. In 2003, Greenwich Bay Sailing Association inaugurated
the CJ Buckley Regatta, which became the CJ Buckley Team Race, to remember
CJ, an avid sailor. The event has grown and has been the Club 420 National
Team Race Championship in 2009 and 2010, and will be again in 2011.

Please come help us celebrate a great friend and teammate by playing (and
supporting) the game we all love. Contact Justin Assad if you'd like to
join us.
