The Rhode Island Ram Team slammed the competition at the 30th Lynne Marchiando Trophy. The new Fireflies were filled with Easter eggs (thanks to MIT Coach Matty Cohen) as competitors rigged with temps in the low 40s. Lynne was a star sailor on the MIT team and an instrumental leader of NEISA as well.
A WNW breeze of 12-15 knots brought typical 'auto-tack' conditions on a mostly overcast and chilly day. Thirty three races were completed on Sunday as competitors completed a double, back-to-back round robin against teams they hadn't sailed against. After a brief lunch break another complete round robin was sailed against all competitors. Expedited hearings were held at the end of the day and many races had limited umpiring today with Kerry Sullivan officiating. Sue Charles helped out all day in the finish boat with assistance from MIT students Bruno Faviero '15, Grace Krusell '14 and Javier Ramos '12. Maria Chan '14 got the scoring grid updated all afternoon. Many coaches assisted with the expedited hearings and sailors were completed with their sailing by 1440.
