The University of South Florida St. Petersburg (USFSP) has a position opening for a Waterfront Programs Coordinator.
Duties: The primary purpose of this position is to supervise the daily operations of the aquatic and watercraft programs, equipment, student and graduate student employees, along with the fiscal program management and record keeping. Training student staff members is a key duty of this position. Significant time is spent outdoors, in the pool, in boats, on the water, and away from USFSP. This position will strive to promote a safe and welcoming waterfront environment that offers activities for all students. Minimum Qualifications (Education & Experience): This position requires a Bachelor's degree, with at least one year of experience in a student/affairs/student personnel position. A Master's degree in Higher Education, College Student Personnel, or Sports Recreation Administration preferred. Work experience may not be substituted for the Bachelor's degree requirement for this position. Preferred Qualifications (Education & Experience): Master's Degree in Health Education, Recreation, Higher Education, Sports Management or related field. Demonstrated abilities and knowledge of power and sailing vessels up to 50' including operations and maintenance. USCG Captains License or ability to attain license, US Sailing / US Powerboating instructor certifications and motorboat operator certification. Demonstrated ability to create and execute waterfront lessons plans including evaluation of learning objectives. Aquatic facilities knowledge including lifeguard and pool maintenance operations. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage program administration, equipment organization, team building, discipline, and university policy.
