They told me there will be no newer version than 1.6 for the Galaxy (i7500) They also told me that there are no plans for android 2.2 Samsung is still busy to make 2.1 for the Spica world wide updated by KIES or PC Studio. Since i tweet this the hole Samsug world with a Spica or Galaxy is mad on Samsung. I agree with you all for a part. But i must say why hating? The galaxy users galaxy users get 1.6. And the Spica users get 2.1. I know people want 2.2 But Samsung can't update always old phones. Now you tink old phones? Its new here! This phones are OLD Samsung coms with new models like I9000, I5500 and I5800 Samsung told in a News message that all new models will get android 2.2. Now i see you thinking why not for my Spica or Galaxy? That is very simple Marketing! If Samsung keeps updating old phones you never will buy new phones. But there is more. The hardware of the Galaxy (i7500) can't run 2.1. And for the Spica (i5700) there is still no worldwide official update out. Thats why we think there will be no Android 2.2 for this phone. Samsung keeps pushing you to buy new phones. A lot off people will say now F*ck Samsung! But i will tell you this is not only the problem that hits Samsung. Also HTC and SE have problems with this. Because Samsung and HTC are hot they have to listen to the customers. But you forget that they want also new phones with the latest software! *So what i say is this:* Google is not Microsoft. Google brings to fast new versions out. (If they say you must have that kind of spec there will be no problems) But now is the hole Android world sick on his phone because brands doesn't update it. Where is the line? The line is all up to Google and Brands. But for Samsung there is a line. Samsung presents a lot of new phones and they say for every new Android phone 2.2 So the line is hard for Samsung but *REAL. * *Example Microsoft:* Microsoft told Samsung about a new update of Windows Mobile. Samsung work to a update for his WM phones but give only his latest WM phones this update. Because Microsoft say you must have that kind off specifications. *Example Google:* Google told the hole world about Android 2.2 that could run on every Android phone. Brands will think great news but now we MUST make a update. So Google Push brands to make a update. But the marketing of Samsung is different. They will new phones with the latest software. So what is the hole thing Microsoft keep it still for a longer time. (And say the phone must have .....) But Google coms with Android 2.2 and they say you can use it on every Android phone. This is for brands very hard. They can do 3 things. No update. Updating his phones. Making new phones with the latest software. *What we see here Samsung choose for:* No update. Making new phones with the latest software. So its hard but real. I really think Samsung take care of his customers. But they have to make decisions. *So Android 1.6 for Galaxy.
