University, it will be a day focused on product talks, coding, demos and
fun, where we'll be covering topics such as Android, Chrome/HTML5, Social
APIs and Maps API. Developer advocates and engineers will be there to show
you the latest and greatest, as well as answer your questions and hear about
what you've been working on.

SPEAKERS*Alan Noble*

Alan Noble is an IT entrepreneur and executive with 25 years of
international technology leadership and management experience, in Australia,
the United States and Japan. Since Feb 2007 he has lead Google's research
and development operations in Australia, one of Google's fastest growing
engineering centres and the home of Google Maps and Google Wave. He joined
Google from NetPriva, a networking software company he founded in 2005 which
was acquired by Expand Networks. From 1982 to 1986 he lived in Japan where
he worked for Daiichi Kaden and NEC. From 1986 until 2002 he lived in
California, where he worked for Schlumberger, the world's largest oilfield
services company, for 8 years. In 1996 he founded NetMind, which developed
the Internet's first change detection service. NetMind was acquired in 2000
by Intellisync (now part of Nokia) where he remained as VP of Engineering
until returning to Australia in 2002.

Alan is also a national director of the Australian Information Industry
Association (AIIA), a cofounder of SA Angels and an advisor on five
Australian University advisory boards (NSW, Queensland, Adelaide, ANU and
CMU). He is a graduate of Adelaide University and Stanford University and an
adjunct professor at Adelaide University. He has been granted seven patents
and has several others pending.
*Arne Roomann-Kurrik*

Arne is a Developer Programs Engineer at Google, working with the Chrome
team. Just like the rest of you, he puts his pants on one leg at a time;
except that once his pants are on, he makes excellent samples, developer
tools, and documentation.
*Fred Chung*

Fred is a Developer Advocate at Google working with Android developers
worldwide to realize compelling mobile apps. He is also involved with
efforts to help developers monetize with Google's mobile ads products.
Before joining Google, Fred was a consultant at Accenture and has held
various software engineering positions in the enterprise systems integration
area.
*Ken Liu*

Ken is a Developer Advocate at Google focused on Android and the AdWords
API. Before joining Google, he worked at Microsoft as software engineer and
consultant. He enjoys learning new technology and sharing development
experiences, especially on web and mobile topics.
*Shawn Shen*

Shawn Shen is a developer advocate working on Geo APIs at Google, where he
also worked on the OpenSocial project. Prior to Google he worked at Yahoo,
Ariba, Webex, and eBay. He received a Ph.D. in physics with a focus on
Superstring research.
*Timothy Jordan*

Timothy is a Developer Advocate at Google working on the social web. He has
taught broadcasting, theater, programming, and various forms of new media at
the University of California at Santa Cruz, the Academy of Art University,
and the Digital Media Academy. He has a B.S. in Computer Engineering, a
Theater Arts graduate degree, and an MFA in Digital Arts and New Media from
UC Santa Cruz. In his spare time he runs half marathons and announces for
the Santa Cruz Derby Girls, the Silicon Valley Roller Girls, and any other
Roller Derby team that asks. As an engineer he enjoys solving problems for
the benefit of fellow humans. As an artist he enjoys the search for truth
and beauty.

*Tony Chan*

Tony Chan joined Google in 2007 as a developer program engineer. Since then,
he's helped developers with various Google products/APIs like Google
Checkout, Apps and Android. Currently, Tony is a Developer Advocate for
Android. Prior to joining Google, Tony was a senior application developer at
the University of Michigan and a management consultant at
PricewaterhouseCooper. He received his M.B.A and M.S.E. degrees from
University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
