One of the more frustrating aspects of Android is how little attention
Google Docs has gotten. There’s no official app from Google, and the
web functionality is very limited.
Today, at Google’s cloud-computing conference, Google Atmosphere, the
company will tout its success in converting businesses and
organizations to its Apps suite of products, and also promises to
deliver Google Docs editing capabilities to Android and iPad users
(the iPhone is strangely omitted).
>From the statement, which talks about simultaneous editing between
coworkers, it almost sounds like this would be a Google Apps-only
feature. But that doesn’t really make sense, so I fully expect all
Google users to have access to the same functionality. It’s also worth
mentioning that Google Spreadsheets has had some simple editing on
mobile browsers, while Documents have not.
