Great news (maybe a rumour) just in that the HTC Heroes in Europe will
receive the Android OS 2.1 update mid-febuary. The rumour apparently
come's from someone who work at HTC Poland. We already knew it was coming
as HTC stated they would be skipping Android OS 1.6 and going staight to
Android 2.x. The source also states that the HTC Tattoo will not receive
the update due to hardware limitations but here are some of the
improvements we here in Europe expect to see in the OS update.
a.. Android 2.1 is much faster
a.. One interesting option is a preview of desktops, you can zoom out two
Finders as pages in your browser. Effect. Effectively reduce the deskop,
brillant view.
a.. Icons have clear coat
a.. At the bottom of the menu we have: phone, menu, contacts
a.. HTC added a nice transition when you quit the application and move
around the options.
a.. Lock screen is not rounded.
a.. Faster-running HTC keyboard.
a.. New widgets from HTC (News and Weather, YouTube)
a.. Improved flashplayer. Operates smoothly.
a.. Graphic change in the gallery and video player (Cosmetic procedures)
a.. And the rest of the news, which introduces a new android. (Market
etc.)
a.. We have more RAM. About 130-140mb after killing the process.
