Gadget populer dari Apple ini menyimpan setiap detail pergerakan penggunanya ke file rahasia di dalam handset yang kemudian dikopi ke komputer si pengguna saat tersinkronisasi. Adapun file ini berisi informasi berupa garis lintang, garis bujur, titik koordinat dan waktu yang dicatat iPhone. Itu artinya, siapa pun yang mencuri iPhone atau komputer si pengguna bisa menemukan detail pergerakan pemiliknya hanya dengan menggunakan program sederhana. Laporan ini disampaikan peneliti keamanan Pete Warden. Dikatakannya, untuk beberapa ponsel, kemungkinan hal ini sudah berlangsung selama satu tahun, mengingat kemampuan rekaman data sepertinya dimulai sejak kemunculan update iOS 4 yang dirilis Juni 2010. "Apple telah memungkinkan hampir setiap orang bisa mengakses ponsel dan komputer Anda untuk mendapatkan detail informasi kemana saja Anda pergi," ujarnya seperti dikutip *detikINET* dari The Guardian, Kamis (21/4/2011). Ditambahkannya, hanya iPhone yang merekam lokasi pengguna dengan cara seperti ini.
