Untuk Apps, beberapa waktu yg lalu ada yang posting, selama kita check itu "backup my data" di Settings > Privacy, ntar kalo kita factory reset dan konek maka semua apps yg tercatat di backup bakal didownload ulang (kecuali yg bukan dari market resmi).
Jadi untuk yang non-root yang nggak ter-backup cuma SMS, sisanya bakal balik lagi walaupun kita ganti HP. Ada aplikasi untuk otomatis ngebackup SMS ke Gmail, tapi belom pernah coba karna ga yakin ama pemakaian batrenya (kalo ada yg pernah coba mohon reviewnya). Trus soal "desktop software", kalau saya nganggep yang semacam KIES itu lebih ribet dan lelet.
