This is the tablet that most of you have been waiting for. Samsung’s officially announced the 7 inch Galaxy Tab Plus 7.0. Unlike previous beliefs, this won’t be just a dual-core upgrade with Gingerbread still on board. This is a full Honeycomb Android tablet experience with TouchWiz sitting on top. Unfortunately, Samsung doesn’t mention which processor is inside but we do get the clock speed – 1.2GHz. It could be anything from their own dual-core Exynos to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon. And don’t forget that TI and NVIDIA chips can be clocked up to 1.2GHz, as well, so trying to narrow it is tough. The 7 inch display isn’t Super AMOLED or Super AMOLED Plus, but we didn’t expect it to be. Super LCD is still the star here and we’re getting a WSVGA resolution. Other specs to round out the experience include 1GB of RAM, dual cameras (3 megapixel rear, 2 megapixel front) with 720p HD video recording, 1080p video playback, 16 or 32GB of internal storage, Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, USB 2.0 with USB Host support, HSPA+ radios and more. GALAXY Tab 7.0 Plus will be available starting in Indonesia and Austria from end-October and gradually rolled out globally including Southeast and Southwest Asia, US, Europe, CIS, Latin America, Middle East, Africa, Japan and China. The obligatory “we can’t wait for this thing to come stateside” statement is appropriate here.
