*London* - Untuk pertama kalinya dalam 3 tahun terakhir, Apple iPhone gagal meraih gelar 'Phone of the Year' di ajang penghargaan cukup bergengsi di Inggris. Gelar tersebut jatuh pada Samsung Galaxy S II, dalam pemilihan yang diselenggarakan oleh majalah teknologi terkemuka, Stuff Magazine. Dua tahun sebelumnya, gelar tersebut selalu jatuh pada iPhone. Kini seperti *detikINET* kutip dari DailyMail, Jumat (4/11/2011), iPhone 4S dinilai kalah oleh Galaxy S II. Memang Galaxy S II memiliki sejumlah fitur unggulan dan sejauh ini diklaim sudah terjual 10 juta unit. Stuff juga mendaftar beberapa smartphone yang dipuji tinggi atau 'Highly Commended'. Yang masuk di dalamnya adalah HTC Sensation, Blackberry Bold 9900, Google Nexus S dan Nokia E6. "Stuff Awards tahun ini adalah bukti bahwa dunia gadget lebih inovatif dan menarik daripada sebelumnya. Gap antara pemenang dan runner up sungguh tipis," kata Will Findlater, editor Stuff Magazine. Namun demikian di kategori komputer tablet, Apple berjaya. iPad 2 dinobatkan sebagai 'Tablet of The Year', mengalahkan Galaxy Tab. Samsung dan Apple memang sedang bersaing sengit. Di arena smartphone, Samsung baru saja mengalahkan Apple sebagai vendor ponsel cerdas terbesar.
