Ujung-ujungnya untuk apa mengeluarkan biaya untuk riset kalo punya team hukum yang kuat yang bisa menggugat semua pihak lain untuk sesuatu paten akal-akalan? Aspek lain mengenai paten ini juga dalam bidang riset farmasi, gimana dengan perusahaan farmasi yang merambah kekayaan alam negara terbelakang atau negara berkembang kemudian menciptakan penemuan dari kekayaan alam tersebut. Apakah hal semacam ini layak untuk memperoleh paten? menuntut royalti? Memeras negara yang sebenarnya memiliki kekayaan alam tersebut? Bukan menolak sistem paten ini secara membuta sih, cuma rasanya sistem paten ini masih ada kelemahan-kelemahan yang harus diperbaiki lagi ke depannya...
